There's a movie coming out of The Color of Magic with Sean Astin (Samwise in LOTR) in it. But-but-but... he's playing Twoflower!? I understand the theory that anyone can play any part and all, but having someone non-Asian play an essentially Asian-looking character seems just wrong. Urinating dog!

PS
Still, I like Sean Astin okay, and Tim Curry is playing the bad guy, and it's a Discworld movie so I'll want to see it.

You can't go wrong with Tim Curry. Also, YAY DISCWORLD. I am so glad Thorson got me reading those books. :)

WHAT? Oh my God, exciting! I mean, yes, I completely agree about the casting of Twoflower. *eyeroll* Way to be, casting director. BUT STILL. MOVIE. Yay!

I'll watch it with glee if I get a chance. :)

Yeah, the casting for that didn't sit well with me either. Shame really, as Hogfather was brilliant. Oh and it's actually both Colour of Magic AND The Light Fantastic combined into one.

Which is really the only way to do it, as they're really one story. But is it deviating from the book a lot or is it just that I don't remember the story that well?

Been ages since I read either of them so I'm not sure. Last one I read was The Last Hero.
