I'm sure I'm not the first place you've heard this news, but in response to the Komen foundation withdrawing their funding from Planned Parenthood's breast cancer screening programs there has been an outpouring of support. And (from Planned Parenthood's site) - NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg will match all donations to the Planned Parenthood Breast Health Fund, up to a total match of $250,000.

Frankly, I don't care if the $250,000 mark has been met and reached and my donation is on it's own, I was really pleased to find that Planned Parenthood's website has a donate button right up front, because I've been meaning to donate to them for a long time. There were many years there when, if it hadn't been for Planned Parenthood I'd have had no health care at all.

LifeNews, a pro-life organization at http://www.lifenews.com/2012/02/01/komen-also-stops-funding-embryonic-stem-cell-research-centers/ reports that Komen has also stopped funding for embyonic stem cell research centers. LifeNews of course thinks this is a good thing.

And in completely unrelated news, I finished reading "A Series of Unfortunate Events," today. I walked for an hour on the treadmill because I couldn't put the book down. ;) *hugs Violet, Klaus and Sunny* If anyone wants to talk about the books, write me!
