I went to work with the intention of finishing this background check they're doing on me, and I clicked the wrong thing on that website, and could not get it to go backward from there. I talked to someone on the phone about it and she gave me a number to fax the info to, but several people tell me that she lied and it won't work. Because this is the government we're talking about, they do that to us all the time. You think I'm joking, but I'm not. The left hand never knows what the right is doing and they're always giving out bad information, usually because they're making guesses and have no idea who to ask.
And then I decided to come home sick, because I think the reason I screwed the form up on the website was I was just too out of it to read the instructions correctly. Also, I had left part of my uniform at home and didn't even want to admit to being so stupid, so it worked out well. I probably wouldn't have left it home if I didn't need some damned rest.
So I made myself some nice chicken soup and tea and sat down to watch a movie on the TV and discovered that I still can't make all the electronic parts work together to show me a movie. And my VCR started showing the menus in Spanish. It's so frustrating. Why can't I do this? If Eor starts it up it sometimes gives him a little trouble for a minute, but then it works.
I can't listen to music, either, for the same reason - can't make all the electronic parts work together. I know this is a lovely and amazing and expensive setup that Eor has, but if it were just me I'd trade it all these black boxes with dials, switches and pitons for a laptop. I mean, I could watch movies or listen to music on this computer, but I'd be attached to it by the headphones because I can't make the connection to the speakers work. And I get sick of sitting in this hard little wooden chair all hunched up with my knees hitting the keyboard. *gets two pillows and stuffs them under her butt* There, dammit, that's a little better.
Don't mind me, I get cranky when I'm not feeling well. :)
