Snowing now, so can't take long to type this - instead I will repost the quick posts I made over the last two days to FaceBook. (Sorry.)
New Year's Eve
Signed the papers on the new house. Went over there for the final walk-through before signing and found that the oil tank was EMPTY. Spent the next 4 hours running back and forth ferrying oil into it. Eor's got a bad cold and I'm just starting to get it.
New Year's Day
Yesterday Eor went over to the new house to clean and found that an electric pole in New Gloucester was on fire and power was lost, so the furnace couldn't turn on. Temp got down to 38 in the middle of the house. He doesn't think any pipes burst. Power was restored about 2pm and it was up to 44 by the time we left after putting our few dribbles in the oil tank. The woman who works evenings in the Big Apple on the South side of Gray almost knows me, now, after four trips to get diesel in two days. It's only a few cents more expensive to do it that way than to have someone come fill the tank, but damn, the inconvenience is ridic.
PS ETA: I also have developed a rash all over the back of my head and neck, and now it's starting on my belly. Could be stress related, ya think?
