Hawk came out of the surgery without having had the lobe of his lung removed. Which is not as good a thing as it sounds - they didn't bother because they realized the cancer had already spread. It's chemo and radiation, now. Thankfully, his parents-in-law are there and are incredibly capable and connected people, and seem to be doing all that is possible to get him the best care.
Eightball and I are trying to coordinate getting there to help out Hawk's wife, who is eight months pregnant. We want to be effective aid, not just guests in the way.
