I may have said some of this before, here, but I typed this up for another platform and don't feel like re-working it at the moment, so here's a lazy post...
----------------------------------
Well, I'm done with the antibiotics as of yesterday morning. My belly has deflated from where it was when I first came home from the hospital. I still have pain in my lower left abdomen (actually more than I did when I was in the hospital, because then I was completely empty), and need to be able to get to the bathroom often. I have been doing light errands* (delivered lettuce to work**, went to an optometrist appointment***), as well as seen my regular doctor for follow up on being hospitalized.
My doctor mostly worked on calming my fears****, and convinced me to eat a little more, because I'd lost 5lbs and she didn't want to see me lose another 5lbs in the next week. I kind of knew that some of my weakness and listlessness had to do with hunger, but my appetite still isn't like it normally is.
-------------------------
*The trick with errands, as I learned a couple of years ago when I had the hysterectomy, is the same as most tasks around the house - plod slowly, be ready to stop and just sit still for a few minutes when needed, and ask people to lift anything you're concerned about. And, right now, give myself permission to stop and use public bathrooms! It feels like every place I go into I use the bathroom first, then go do whatever I need to do.
**This lettuce is about to bolt, so if anyone needs some PLEASE MESSAGE ME!
***Did I mention I lost my driving glasses yet again, when in the ER? I think they must have been tossed into the laundry, because they didn't have them at the hospital lost & found. Glad I have prescription sunglasses. But my prescription has changed in the past year - in fact, my right eye is getting better! First good news I've had about anything to do with my body.
****Temporarily worked, but I'm really freaking terrified when I think about it. I don't want to end up with a colostomy bag. Pretty sure my work can't accommodate that! But fear keeps me trying to do everything correctly.
