Yes, I'm being super bad about writing. However, I did write a letter to my 7yo niece, Miss Longshanks, because... SHE. WROTE. ONE. TO. ME! First letter! Woooot!! :D :D So, I wrote her back sending mad respect for leveling up her skills.
Let's see, what else has happened since I last posted. Eor went to Florida to visit family (he had that ticket left over from when he didn't go to Arizona with the rest of us in the spring - needed to use that up). But I couldn't get more time off, so I stayed at home, in this big, cold house all alone (*weeps!*). Sunday, the day after he left, I visited my cousin to help her work on a goat stall. Snow fell during the night and I couldn't get the snowblower started and had to text my neighbor to save me and plow me out. So I got there late and we didn't get a lot done. Oh, and her dog bit me. Didn't get through, because I had an insulated jumpsuit on, and she got pulled back very quickly, she just left a couple of bruises on my arm. I had that moment to think about it and go "do I punch my cousin's dog? that might not be good."
Now, I'm not like Eor, where every dog loves him, but mostly I've always had good luck with dogs. I am pretty sure that I surprised her by being right outside the door when it opened. She lunged and my cousin's (adult) kid, who had her lead, did not expect the sudden pull, and it took him just a second too long to get her under control. She's a powerful dog, fairly good sized and broad-chested, with that big, square jaw made for biting. Anyway, I was fine, they were embarrassed, and the next weekend when I came back down (because I left my tool belt behind) they tried to reintroduce us properly, and that seemed to work. That time she rushed me every time I went out and re-entered the house, but all I had to do was roar back at her and she stopped at the last second, and mostly she was very sweet. What can you do, dogs are sometimes unpredictable animals.
And maybe I picked up a cold from my cousin, or somewhere - first cold in two years. Mainly just a sore throat and fatigue. I wear an N95 most places, but didn't at my cousin's. But several of my co-workers have got the 'rona right now, so I have done a couple of tests, lately - another first for me; I had no reason to do so before - but I'm still negative so far. No 10 days of Admin leave for me.
Yeah, so. Things have been pretty uneventful.
