My color and style settings are all still there. According to the support page this is a database problem which will be addressed "soon," so I guess for today I'll live with it.

I was thinking about totemic animals, this morning. What determines a totemic animal? I'm sure it's different for different people, but I saw this movie, "Brotherhood of the Wolf," a month or so ago, where the sidekick to the main character was this "Red Indian" shaman would tell people their totem animal after holding their hand for a second. I thought probably I would end up with a lazy, gluttonous pigeon as my totem. Wouldn't that suck.

I do tend to get wandering off on odd thoughts, sometimes. As I was waiting for the car to get inspected the other day the topic was metrics, time, and the base-10 number system. Why is metrics thought to be so cool? Because you can move a decimal and get the next increment up or down, very little work. But if we switched to a base-12 number system we'd have to redo all the metrics. And what about time? If we switch to metric everything else, will we evetually get metric time, so that our pay is easier to figure?

Is Brotherhood of the Wolf the French movie about the wolf-thing that attacks people in the countryside? If not, then the French movie I'm thinking of has a similar name. I fell asleep during it, so I can't go into much more description of the plot.

Yup, that's the same movie.:) My friend Caw had a thing for the Red Indian guy. I'll admit he was pretty, though there were so many shots where it was obviously staged for him to _be_ pretty. Caw pointed out that the theme was actually the power struggle between Church and State, and how the peasants were considered to be disposable pawns by both sides. I came out of it feeling it was kind of a fun movie, if gruesome, although I was a bit annoyed that everyone else ended up being magically not dead, _except_ for the Red Indian - he's the only one who dies. It made me want to write fanfic with an alternate ending where he also gets to be magically not dead.
