A brief synopsis -

I probably won't spell or type too well, I'm either still rather drunk or just totally exhausted, and I probably won't be able to do justice to this day, but it seems only fair to make my attempt while I'm still in the moment.

Visiting my Dad and step family: weird and out of synch, as always, but it was a good thing, nonetheless. My stepsister has an amazingly cute and smart 6 year-old girl, and I was happy to meet her. My Dad is improving with his boat-building and fixing - I didn't get to field test any, but they looked quite good.

Visiting with [livejournal.com profile] rowantree: really pleasant and fun, as always. We walked around Belfast and she showed me what had changed and remained the same, showed me the bear sculptures. She's always charming.:)

Dancing: Damn! I'm glad [livejournal.com profile] eor and I went! Almost thought we wouldn't, because I was tired from four and a half hours of driving and Matt wasn't feeling too great to start with. But we girded our loins and entered the fray... Very shortly after we got there [livejournal.com profile] lemondropgirl showed up - she had made a guess as to where I would have planned to go dancing, because um, I forgot to say.

(Except they actually ranged from the late 70's to the late 90's tonight.) We had gotten there before 10PM so we didn't have to pay cover and could afford drinks. ;) I really like watching <lj site="livejournal.com" user="lemondropgirl"> dance - like <a href="http://mapage.noos.fr/matushan/">O</a> she uses her arms a lot more than I do, but other than that they are quite different.

A particular girl appeared in front of me several times on the dancefloor, and we saw her again on the walk home - at that point she complimented me on my tights (new ones - black and white striped, I love 'em). :)
