After being too hot for several days, tonight I'm actually cold. Of course I'm still sitting here in my shorts, loving it, though I'm thinking about hot chocolate. Trying to follow this gluten-free diet, hot chocolate mix is to be avoided because one can't be sure of all the ingredients, but I could try making cocoa from bakers cocoa and sugar, like we did when I was a kid. Basically we treated it like instant coffee. It's not great, but it might be better with some powdered milk. Hmmmm... but it's late, and our guests are already asleep, so maybe starting up the teakettle would be too loud. *think-think*

eor to beta what I've written on my current story, the Red Dwarf Parallel Universe thingy. He always gives useful feedback, if somewhat challenging to comply with.
I also immersed myself in a collection of Kage Baker's short stories about The Company, "Black Projects, White Knights." Love it, totally love her Company stories. Adore Alex Checkerfield and Joseph most of all. She has a new one in the current Asimov's, "The Empress of Mars," which I expected to see Alex in, as it's in his time-period range, but there was a new mysterious character, Eliphal De Witt, who dropped hints that he knew things about the future. I thought Eliphal would turn out to be Alex, but I guess not. Kage Baker had better not go and die on me before she reveals all.;)
