Now here's a question I'm not sure I know how to Google... Is gargling with Listerine really any better for you than using, say, rum? I mean, granted, I wouldn't want to gargle with rum just before work, but in the evening...
The last visit to my dentist revealed that mouthwash is actually a total scam, and it STAINS YOUR TEETH. My teeth were all stained and my dentist was like, "Do you smoke or drink coffee?" and I said, "Noooo." and he was like, "Do you use mouthwash?" And I was like, "Of course! Every day!" And he told me how BAD IT IS, and how it stains your teeth. Apparently, washes like listerine that have alcohol in them are even WORSE, because they dry out your mouth and mess up the PH balance, which can lead to you getting sick and/or cavities, mouthsores, etc.
What?? Yeah! So what the heck am I supposed to be doing/using?? And here was me trying to be good. Mostly, I'll admit, out of fear of H1N1, because the wisdom going around is that one should gargle with Listerine to wash germs out of one's throat, and the alternative to that is salt water, so I guess I'll give that a try. But I've also been drinking blueberry juice, trying to improve my memory (I can't seem to remember to take ginko bilobila but the bottle of blueberry juice looming in the top of the fridge reminds me of itself) and I thought that the green listerine would help make my teeth whiter again. NOT, huh?
I tried rinsing my toothbrush in hydrogen peroxide before brushing my teeth, but it foamed so much it scared me and I wasn't sure that was safe.

I know. I know. I was shocked, too.
