Instead of going to Ohio this weekend it ends up I've got a few days to myself, having just seen
eor off at the airport on his way to Florida for memorial service. (Eor's choice of song quote is, as usual, quite appropos.) Thankfully I was able to get some bereavement time, so when he comes back we'll have a few days to spend together without obligations. The sweet Butonquail has offered that I could come to Ohio anyway, rather than being alone for the long weekend up to my birthday. I greatly appreciate her offer. But I think a few days of solitude may be good for my soul right now. I'm quite enjoying listening to the rain at the moment. To fill the next couple of days I'm considering taking a drive to Rockland to visit my grandparent's graves, and perhaps down to North Berwick to see my other grandmother in the nursing home. (Don't worry, she doesn't notice that I don't visit very often, she's completely demented. I'm only partially demented, a novice, one might say.;) I can see what I have to look forward to. I'd much rather have a quick end like Eor's Dad. Or my Grandfather. Men may die earlier, but seem to die quicker - strokes and heartattacks. Seems like a much better deal.)
Well, I'm off to defrost the fridge, before it creates it's own little glacier in our kitchen. After I get that started I'll probably come back and decide to take down this post. We'll see.
