During the day, yesterday, it became fall. The humidity went away, the temperature began dropping, and (aside from the blinding sunlight) it's a really lovely day outside. Oh, okay, I suppose normal people might think the sunlight is part of the beauty of the day.;) Gives me a bit of a headache, though maybe that wouldn't be a problem if it weren't for the allergies kicking up.

So now that it's cool we're cooking lasagnia. I hope it comes out better than last time. Well, it can't help but, [livejournal.com profile] eor did the spices this time.

We went to take some of Eor's homemade pork-chop spice receipe to his cousin and stop off at [livejournal.com profile] jimdes's yardsale. I suppose you can't say we completely struck out, but the cousin wasn't home and neither was JimDes. We stood and talked with his wife a while. Perhaps we'll go down again as they're intending to yardsale all three days of Labor Day weekend.

And now it's almost time to go see if Ballykissangel will be on, today. Why do the public stations think it's a good idea to take away the shows we like during fundraiser months?

they hope you'll pay them to bring the good shows back, of course. it's ransom.

but i'm happy to hear that that ridiculously-named irish business is still on - it was one of the few shows i watched last time we had cable, back in santa fe, and it looks like we'll be cabled here soon.

I've had to recently admit to myself that Ballykissangel is really a soap-opera, albeit a very very _good_ one. Even though they do each episode pretty much contained there's a continuous story line and changes in people's lives, and when I miss some I can feel a little left behind. Happilly they have episode outlines on the site I referenced, so now I can catch up on the developements I missed.:)

I hate fundraiser months. Aaron's Sunday morning ritual is to drink coffee and watch the This Old House hour and New Yankee Workshop. Every damn time they start doing a pledge drive they take his shows off and he gets all upset.
