Tell me something I don't know

This one is going around so fast I think it actually does deserve to be called a meme - I can't tell you how many people on my friends list had this posted this morning. I'll steal afrai's wording...

Some of the people on my friends list, I hardly know. Some of you I think I know well, but I'm sure have the capacity to surprise me still.

So: comment and tell me something about you. Something random, or something that you think is the key to your entire personality. Yes, even the people I've known for years. Yes, even the people I've never talked to.

(Now I've just got to figure out what I'm going to tell the other 45 people. Because obviously I can't tell them each the same things.)

I buy multiple postcards from random places I stop on road trips. I've been doing this for about ten years. I never write on them or send them, but keep them in a shoebox in my closet. I have nearly 100.

I do that sometimes! Sometimes I buy two copies of the same one and send one to my friend who's a postcard freak. (She likes to get postcard from anyone at all, doesn't care if she knows the person.) Postcards have one huge advantage as memorabilia - they're easy to store.

I'm a closet neat freak. This doesn't mean I have a tidy closet, it means that I spend most of my day stressing over my complete lack of organization.

Ah, but stress is bad. So it seems to me there's two things you could do about this.

1)Overcome the desire to procrastinate and just spend some time organizing each day rather than stressing.

2)Overcome the desire to be neat. May I suggest this is probably the much easier route to choose.;)

I just can't help smiling over your description of yourself in pink dresses with scabby knees. It sounds like your parents wanted you to be a girly girl, but you had a little too much energy to be a little princess.:)

And let me excercise my stalker memory for the moment... I hardly ever remember anything at all, but I seem to recall you wanted to learn to play violin because you wanted to be like Sherlock Holmes. Or is that someone else I'm thinking of?

Oh, no. I wanted to be a little princess myself -- dressed up the one time I celebrated Halloween and everything -- but I liked running around like a tiny hooligan too. I was a shieldmaiden sort of princess. :)
