Bush wants to amend the Constitution to prevent same-sex marriage. This burns me. I mean, you just shouldn't go around amending the frikkin Constitution for any-old random silly reason - if you did we'd have five hundred million amendments and nobody'd be able to sort out the mess. Oh, and there's a poll-thingy on that page and the yes vote is winning. So apparently our oh-so informed public thinks we SHOULD go amending the Constitution all over for any-old silly reason. That makes me worry about the future of our country.

Good grief, I cannot believe people would actually propose we amend the main governing document of the country in such a flippant, ridiculous, and careless manner! While they're at it why don't they go ahead and repeal the 19th amendment! Sheesh!

Thanks for the link.:) It does seem pretty plain that the 'no same-sex marriage' idea would directly oppose the 19th amendment. And yeah, the "Oh, I'll just amend the constitution" attitude, like he's in charge of the playroom and setting a new rule.

I get the feeling the Shrub just wants something with his name on it left to posterity - a warzone, a dumbass amendment, he doesn't care so long as people remember him.
