I came home early from work yet again, yesterday, so today I just called in sick and went to the doctor. She says it's not mono or strep, just a virus. So I'm trying to kick it's ass with hot teas (green and black) with honey, oranges and chicken soup. I was mooning around here going "I want chicken soup!" but not wanting to go to the store and search fruitlessly for a type without gluten in it, when suddenly it occurred to me that chicken soup is made from chicken, of which I have plenty in the freezer. So I made it. And it's not too bad, if I do say so myself. I won't bore you with the details, but suffice it to say that I have a fully loaded spice rack and I'm not afraid to use it.
I also attempted to use my fortune-telling tea cut that I got for Christmas, but I seem unable to get any tea leaves to come out of the pot into the cup. I wonder if this means I have no fortune? I have no sense for ritual, I can't seem to make a ritual out of making and drinking tea, but it was kind of neat to find out that the teapot and honey pot I have fit nicely on the little tray my brother gave me for my birthday. I was wondering if I could find any use for that.
And other than that, I'm reading Frodo Hill. What a blissfully dull day.:)
Funny, I actually took the time to spell check this entry, and there wasn't anything to correct in it. That must be a first.

I just found out that the husband of a woman I work with is a "TSA supervisor" (her words) over there. His name is Wayne. Do you know him?

Yup, Wayne is a Supervisor on his way to being a Manager, actually. (Unless today's dramas have something to do with changing that...?) He actually used to work at Homeruns when I was there, but I didn't get to know him at that time because he worked in delivery (driver manager I think), so he has at least some history with Hannaford.

PORTLAND JETPORT REOPENED AFTER MORNING EVACUATION
"The Portland International Jetport was evacuated shortly before seven Tuesday morning when officials detected what they thought was a suspicious item in a baggage screening machine.
The Transportation Security Administration says the suspicious item that caused the shutdown of the Portland International Airport this morning was a musical instrument. Robert Dyer, head of security, says it was an electric flute, and he says it looked a lot like a pipe bomb to baggage screeners. He says the device had wires coming out of one end and a nine-volt battery, and was encased in a home-made PVC pipe container. Screeners responsible for checking 2,000 to 3,000 pieces of luggage early this morning at the airport spotted the item at 5:51 am. The passenger terminal was evacuated until 7:45am."
