I shut my little finger in a door this morning so I'm not typing so well. Owee. I ran my hand under cold water for quite some time, and
eor teased me, "You'll do anything to get out of moving a couch, won't you? What are you going to do next - pluck your eye out with these tongs?" *chuckle* But we got the couch moved after all, and it really wasn't so bad - neither of us got hurt. In fact, it was kind of fun, trying to figure out how it would work, what to do next - it's like playing Tetris only with a practical application.
I had a bit of an issue today when a certain Lead said a few things which got me angry and I was so distracted I set an alarm bag down in the wrong place. Apparently she stickered it as good and someone else put it on the airline's conveyor belt. I realized what had happened soon enough and got it back, but I'm still getting remedial training tomorrow. She and I had a talk about it, later, and she realized she was at least partly to blame, that's why I'm not actually getting written up on the matter.
It was a weird day all around, though. A Supervisor apparently had a panic attack (they thought it was a heart attack and called the ambulence). There was also an issue with some unknown chemicals which we took out of a passenger's bag. Our manager apparently didn't respond until nearly an hour had passed, and by then the passenger's bag had gone because their flight was loading. I think our people gave the chemicals to the airline people, though, so they weren't on the plane. The passenger just won't have them at the other end.
It was CMH's going away party tonight, so I went out to that, but had to leave early to get the car back for
eor to go to work. So this is where I made the mistake I feel worst about, today - I was in such a hurry I forgot to pay my bill. I had to call the restaurant back and ask them to let me speak to the people at my table and beg someone to pay the bill for me. Well, if they had already left I'd have asked the restaurant if they could take my credit card number over the phone (something I'd normally never do) or I could go back tomorrow and pay them, but I felt just so damned dumb about having bolted out like that - if I'd had half a brain I could have just given one of my coworkers some money and had them take care of it. Knowing them I'd have gotten change back to the penny, tomorrow. But as it is I will feel obligated to overpay whoever picked up my tab.
Wow this is making my finger hurt. I'd better go wash some dishes and then sleep.
