And we are now the possessors of a very lovely old chair which appears to be made of golden oak. It is not as advertised, a platform rocker, but rather a glider, but it is nice and we decided to buy it anyway.
We also now possess a few more records, because Eor thought we should stop at this place if we were already in Portsmouth. Not of the extremely ancient variety, this time. I chose a Leon Redbone which has "Big Bad Bill (is Sweet William Now)," a song I've wanted a copy of since my brother, Hawk, sang it for us a couple of years ago. Although somehow I suspect I would prefer to have a good recording of Hawk singing it because his voice is so joyful and humorous. And, what... I got something else. I think it was The Specials - "More Specials." We shall see.
The bummer of the day is that the gluten-free bakery which was there in Portsmouth has already closed. :( So we had lunch at Muddy River - very good New Orleans style barbecue, it was great, and I have leftovers. ;9
Eor's been buzzing around doing more winterising, and we've finally given in and hung a rather disreputable looking blanket over the front door (which we don't use) because that front hall is downright frigid. This may possibly increase the warmth in our bedroom, which has only a curtain between it and the front hall.
