I'm working on it. My brain seems to have gone into completely fuzzy vacation mode. Hopefully that will be wearing off today, as I've set myself up a huge list of things to do.

* Write to Teena Done! Okay, not the greatest letter, I suppose, but it's something.
* Write to Caw
* Work on government resume. (Daunting, as I've heard the resume builder on the US jobs site is about 40 pages long.)
* Make a grocery run
* Dishes (done one load already, but there's a lot.)
* Make a vet appointment for the cat (just a yearly booster shot thingy).
* Find the replacement filter for the air filter thingy in the bedroom.
* Walk an hour (most of that might be accomplished as I'm doing the grocery run, since I let Eor take the car.)
* Write some fic. (Anything at all, I just need to get going on something, even if it's totally bizarre.)
* Sweep, dust, mop. (I ought to do something useful on vacation.)
* Do a load of laundry.
* Get my hair cut.

We'll see how much of that gets done.

Of course I started my day by reading until about 10AM. And I after wasting all that time was very annoyed to find I was disappointed with the ending of the book. "The Compleat Enchanter" (L. Sprague DeCamp and Fletcher Pratt): As I have understood L. Sprague DeCamp to be a classic writer of the genre (swords and sorcery), I had probably expected too much. Actually, I had read the book before and couldn't remember much of it. Now I know why. It doesn't make sense. Especially the ending, where they played a little 'find the lady' game with several female characters and I'm left going, "So, who's who and why?" It smacked of them having gotten tired of writing and deciding to just finish it and be damned. Merlin shows up out of nowhere for no particular reason and just fixes everything. Can you say, "Hand of God"?

Oh well, I'll try some Zelazny next. I'll try not to be disappointed, as I think "Wizard World" is earlier stuff of his.

A few reasons why I hate Wal-Mart:

*No matter what hour you're there you can always hear a kid screaming.
*Big huge rack of women's pants with no organization by size, style, or anything else I can understand. How am I supposed to find something that fits me? (Not to mention my brain was like squashed bugs and I was going, "22W? Twenty-two inch Waste?")
*In places where things are organized by size they only have things available in particular colors in each size. If you want bikini underwear in size 8 you'd better like the dipfront style and solid colors in the red-orange-yellow range. If you wanted that exact style and color in size 7 you're out of luck - in size 7 the same style is only available in browns and brown prints.

I burned my tongue on the soup I made for lunch out of the leftover turkey which I'd gotten for sandwiches at the picknick, Sunday. But damn it was good. :)
