(my memory is like a sieve so this is a good one for me.)
Part of being on Livejournal.com is inevitably gaining a number of LJ buddies. Unfortunately, as time wears on, it's easy to forget where all of them came from. Post this in your journal and have your friends respond with how they recall first 'meeting' you.
BTW, on re-reading my entry about Ch 23 of 'A Walk in the Karakorum,' I realized one might get the impression I didn't like it. I did like it, actually, very much.
I didn't work late last night as I had intended.
eor lured me home with promises of Thai food. And there already were enough women who were working so that I wasn't needed.:)
Which is good, because the night before last was very long, and I had to sleep late yesterday morning to make up for it - didn't get out of work until after midnight. In addition I was working with people who, to varying degrees, can annoy me. One took huge offense when I said he was 'rambling on.' I say that about myself all the time, but I guess he can't know that. I don't feel too terribly bad - as someone else said, "He takes offense all the time, but he's not concerned about giving it." At any rate, he went away and stopped talking to me. I'm a bitch, what can I say.
At any rate, I think my behavior was pushed out of his mind by subsequent events of the evening. Because he was annoyed with me he volunteered to observe what was going on at the counter of the airline which we were waiting for, and he got to write up a report on multiple illegalities and immoralities committed by the airline agent. His report made pretty entertaining breakroom reading, yesterday. Most of the agent's actions I'd be willing to put down to the fact that she's young (19) and doesn't know how to behave professionally, and was angry at her co-workers and managers because of several different pressures that were put on her. I think the truely illegal stuff was forced by the airline management, actually. However, she really went over the line in my book when she scammed a bracelet out of a passenger by putting him on the earlier plane in return for it. (Two flights to the same place were going out at the same time because they'd both been delayed, probably for the same reasons. I don't know why they don't just cancel in a case like that, instead of stringing people along all day.)
So now I've spent all morning catching up on what you have all been doing, and drinking copious amounts of lapsang souchong with honey and canned milk. And thinking about a WIP but not doing anything about it.
