Day two of vacation.

Have returned from the Reich museum. I think I'm still processing. I can't for the life of me make sense out of his orgone energy hypothesis - every "example" of it seems like effects of electricity and conductivity. Except for people's cancers apparently going away, but then the patients died anyway, so I just don't know. But he did have some progressive ideas about changing society to create a less emotionally and physically stressful environment for people to live in. He studied with Freud, and as far as I can see that was their big split - Freud wouldn't consider trying to change society so that it wouldn't make people fucked up, and Reich couldn't see the point in trying to fix the neuroses after they'd gotten imbedded in the individual - he thought they should be preventatively treated. Makes sense to me, but then again I'm a Sociology student, not Psych.

And the drive was lovely.

Oh, and BTW, I did cut out early from work on Friday, using sick time because I had like the most horrible headache I've ever experienced.
