eor just phoned, and he won't be home until 10:30, probably at best - could be later. How odd, not to have him home. I invited one of my co-workers (PB ... not sure what nick I should give her) over, but she'd already made plans to go to someone else's house for the evening.

In keeping with my current rule of giving people nicks that use their initials I've tried to think of something that suits her using PB, but the first thing that comes to mind is Peanut Butter, which is just silly, and then plumbum (Latin for lead) but I don't think she's appreciate that. Sometimes people at work have referred to her as Mistress of the Night (one of those nicks people get for humorous juxtaposition purposes, because she looks anything but) and I sometimes call her Slinky because I call my cat Slinky and she shares a name with my cat. She says she's not thin enough to be a Slinky, but says she likes that name.:)

She's such a total sweetheart, I adore her. She's always the one who's willing to advocate for other people, but rarely herself. Got herself a name as a rabble rouser at work, early on, because she didn't hesitate to go right in to the big boss's office and complain about stuff. Not that it did much good - the place is so fucked in the management. She's grown to like him, now - the boss man, the Federal Security Director, FSD Big Bobby D. Since he seems to listen to her she's decided the rot must be a little further down. (I suspect it's not so much individuals as communications processes and policies.)
