Did laundry and groceries, then felt really worn out. I haven't gotten over this cold, and I guess I just wore myself out with all that activity (she muttered, scornfully). So I had a couple of hot toddies during the late afternoon and that did make me feel somewhat better.:) I'd been wondering. I've had hot toddies recommended to me so many times, but I don't think I'd got around to trying them before. (Mine were Jamaican - I used rum.)

The chicken soup I made from scratch, heavy on the curry-style spices, because I have this notion that lots of spices are good for me.:) Frozen mixed veggies (always way too much broccolie in those, though) and fresh crushed garlic (<3), but no potatoes or rice. I kind of missed them, but figured I didn't need useless carbs.

We watched a couple eps of Futurama (the one where Bender is turned into a were car and is supposed to be destined to kill his best friend, and Fry is all jealous when Bender tries to kill Leela first. *chortle*)

But the laundry hadn't gotten all the way dry, I had run out of quarters, so I had to put the last of it down in the scary, necrophiliac infested (in my imagination - I don't know why) basement.

Aaand... what else. Got back on Discworld MUD, and found I had forgotten everything. My character (a witch) has all these bottles she's carrying around and I can't read the labels on them because they're in a language which ceased to exist then they updated the game "on Thursday." I had forgotten that they always say updates will happen / did happen "on Thursday." I had forgotten so much... and didn't know what to expect from the new changes at all, so the other witches got to tease me unmercifully; telling me that witches were now considered part of the wizards guild (Unseen University) and that hedge wizards had been turned into witches. (In the game there's much more rivalry between the witches and the wizards than is ever obvious in the books.)

Also, spent lots of time fangirling about Stephen Fry, wandering websites in search of information on his alleged upcoming Sherlock Holmes role (with, of course, Hugh Laurie playing Watson). Supposedly if they attract enough viewers it could possibly mean a series for them, but (another gay actor) Rupert Everett, is going to be playing Holmes for a different show coming out just before Fry's. So... who knows. I couldn't tell at all from the coverage given if they were intending to play Fry and Laurie's Holmes and Watson straight or gay for comedic effect. (I suppose they could play up queer subtext, and I'd adore it, but I don't dare hope they will.)

I so love lazy Saturdays. :)

...I haven't been on the Discworld MUD in /forever/. I imagine my character (an apprentice Assassin, level 40-ish) has been deleted by now. I was actually considering making a new one today, though. Maybe a Thief, this time. ^^

I hadn't been in my character for 2 years and they hadn't deleted it, so, if you can remember your Assassin's name, try logging into it. Of course I can't tell you if the changes in the game may have been such that the character you made before might have all the points or whatever they are in the wrong places. Also, Assassins are really difficult to play, aren't they? Until they're up in the godlike levels. I think you might have to spend a lot of time on there to make an Assassin work.

I hadn't had a lot of troubles yet; possibly because I was still an apprentice, and hence not yet automatically in the PK league. That right there could be the cause of the difficulty; if you're in the PK league, you get the asses who /are/ at godlike levels who kill you just for the fun of it, not for any RP reasons.

At least, that's how the PK league on the /last/ MUD I played went, and I doubt PK leagues are very different from MUD to MUD. When you have a society that allows people to kill each other, those who join aren't going to be the ones who want to be able to kill someone if they get a legitimate RP reason; they'll be the ones who just want to kill people as often as they can, as many as they can.

Which was the one thing I didn't like about the Assassins - I couldn't graduate and choose to remain out of the PK league; no, once an Assassin graduates, they must join. It's automatic, and you can't quit. -_-

Ah, my sympathies. I do hate people who just want to kill people. Definetly, then, abandon the other character and make a Thief or something.
