Saturday I heard some women in the laundrymat going on about how wonderful wood stoves are. Grr. I think they should be banned in town. When you're too close to your neighbors it's just too much. Someone else's wood stove smoke rolls into our apartment in the middle of the night and I wake up in a terror, thinking the place is on fire. (It hasn't happened for a while, but I'm sure it will again.) And right now my car is full of ash and crap which I'm sure is coming out of someone's chimney. It settles on the outside of the car and then I turn on the blower and it comes spewing out of the vents.

Anyway, that's boring stuff.

Akinari (FJS) drabble:

Snuggled under the blankets, his mind drifts as he starts to fall asleep. Sometimes he recaptures images, bits and pieces filling in the holes in his memories from before he was sick. Tonight something slips into his head, and Akinari sits up with a curse his mother would be appalled at. He claps a hand over his mouth, eyes wide. What the hell had he been thinking? It was too late tonight to go rummaging around the attic - he would certainly wake up his parents - but the moment they were gone tomorrow those Hello Kitty panties were history.

Errr, in other news, don't know if you noticed, but I created a drabble community, named drabblers. If you feel like joining, don't hesitate, I'd love to have you ^_^ Lurking is allowed although you'll probably receive the occasional nudge from me to post ;) First challenge is 'first kiss', thought it might be interesting for the FJS :P

I've never thought of myself as a drabbler, because it's really difficult for me to manage to hit the requisite exactly 100 words. But I'll join and post this, and try. :)

Well, you know, I named the community drabblers, but I could as well have called it short_ficcers or something ;) I prefer the larger content of the word drabbles, so don't worry about that 100 word mark ^_^

Oh, Okay - I just read the info page. And I see from that I'm only supposed to post responses to the challenges. (Am I understanding that correctly?)

That was the original idea, but I think I'll add a part where you can also post out of challenge drabbles, if you only put something in the subject line. Will do that later, but you go already ahead and post this :)
