He showed up at eight o'clock in the morning at the Registrar's Office and asked, in an almost inaudible voice, through a thickly dry mouth, for a new printout of his schedule, entered Luther Bonney Auditorium fifteen minutes late for his first class (stumbling in the semi-darkness down to a seat and feeling that every eye had turned to him), and opened his notebook, only to find his original schedule neatly taped inside the front cover.
