The Sphere?  Is this the bouncy thing in The Prisoner which swallows up people who try to run away from The Village?  *happily pictures it swallowing up Brave Sir Robin, who's screaming like a little girl*

I haven't posted much in a while, so I think for the next few days I'll probably do some clearing house of things I've been musing on.

Why is it not okay to kidnap children?  Thanksgiving Day, all was quiet and boring at the airport, and we were sitting at our station chitchatting...  until this white trash couple started yelling at the airline reps at United.  Apparently they'd been rebooked and didn't understand the situation.  They were screaming and throwing their stuff around, slamming shit down on the floor, etc, all in all making asses of themselves, and I wouldn't really have cared all that much - they can raise their own blood pressure all they want.  Except their little kid, probably two years old (just old enough to run), was terrified of his parents and trying to hide from them.  I felt so horrible for the kid, having to grow up with that.  You know if somebody snatched him his mother would be all crying on TV saying what an angel he was and how much she loved him and blah blah, but she doesn't care enough about him right now to curb her temper.

My Dad used to work with Child Protective, and back then they called themselves The Midnight Baby Snatchers because often they felt like the cases they were called in on were wrong, and they were taking kids without enough firm reason.  He disliked, particularly, neighbors who would lodge complaints to them such as, "they don't feed those kids nothing but Italian food." (pizza, italian sandwiches, spaghettie, maccaronie)  Part of it was that he knew if anyone looked at how we were taken care of they might take us away from him, because we didn't have a solid house and good clothes and supervision every second of the day.  The criteria are so hard to define so that you know that the child needs to be taken out of the situation.  But, to me, when I see a kid that scared of his parents, that's a good enough indication to me.

What the heck?  It's quarter of eight and I'm still in my nightdress.  So much for me thinking that getting up at 6AM would get me started on my day nice and early.  What have I been doing with my time?  I haven't eaten, haven't had tea, haven't read any fic.  Oh, wait, I did to read fic.  I read Theatrical Sins: A Play in Three Acts, by [livejournal.com profile] ariastar - historical Crowley/Aziraphale.  I'd say there was a sizeable chunk of [livejournal.com profile] daegaer influence in it, which I approve of.;)  I also approve of the theme - the loss of theatre to television and people not going out anymore.

Okay, since I've had my fic infusion for today I guess I shouldn't complain.  Off to the shower with me, then.

edited to add: Funny how our perceptions change. I think I haven't been writing much, lately, but when I compare my entries on this month to the entries on previous Novembers, I've written MUCH more this year in Nov.
