The snow from night before last had to be removed last night (high time, too, the roads were almost impassable) so I had to put my car in the parking garage. For a very short while, a few weeks ago, the snow banks were down to the point you could jump out of the road if a car was going to hit you. Now at some corners they're nearly as high as my head, again. I've heard we've got more than our usual quota of snow for this winter, and I'm sure it's not done, yet. If it gets warm too quickly it'll all melt and we'll have flooding.
Oh well, off to trudge through it.

And yep, the slipperyness (does that word exist?) was the worst part of it. And to think that my brother's girlfriend had been cleaning the path in a no-snow moment and when she had finished, she said very content of herself "Finished, now it can start snowing again". She had barely uttered these words two minutes and huge snowflakes started falling from the sky. It was so sad that it was funny :D Luckily there were no broken legs.
And you know what, I can't imagine so much snow, I would actually enjoy seeing that up close someday :) (even though I might complain from the cold :P)

I bet you would complain about the cold. I know I do. When any exposed skin starts hurting the moment you go outside everyone complains. Although, when you're used to it being like that in the winter your whole life you also get to a point where you can ignore being a little cold. If you're outside in that sort of weather, such as last night when I had to walk back from the parking garage (I think it's about a mile), it's really hard to dress so that you're not at all cold. You just keep saying to yourself that if you keep moving you'll be okay, and you'll be home soon and get to warm up. Of course the inverse of that is that you know in the back of your head that if you stop moving for any reason and stay still for too long you will die. A friend of mine, when she was growing up in Vermont, had a neighbor who died on his own front walk, traversing the fifteen feet between his car and his front door, because he slipped and fell, hit his head, was knocked unconscious, and it was late at night so nobody saw it. It's really rather amazing that humans choose to live in an environment like this.
