I don't know yendi, but I like what he has to say about the Terri Schiavo case.  (found via rowantree.)

The case does make me think, though.  Sometimes when I'm sick and lying on the couch I'm not really asleep.  I can hear Eor moving around in the next room but I can't quite wake up, either.  I really hate that.  It's even worse when it happens in the middle of the night when I'm not sick, but I'm half dreaming, and my eyes are open and I can't move.  *shudder*  If that's what my life was like for fifteen years I would be completely insane.  I would want so badly to die.  And that is the best case scenario for this poor woman.  I feel awful for her.  I can't imagine any compassionate god who would want that for anyone.

I think the best thing to learn from this, is to make sure to have your wishes known through a living will or health care proxy or whatever the heck they are called.
