I love overcast days.  Very calming. :)  There's not that pressure to go enjoy the sunshine - there isn't any!  Hey, I can be lazy!  Well, not really, but it's a nice thought, and laziness does seem to be my defining characteristic.  I finished up "Moab" today, and was envying people who have the ability to remember anything about their lives, and people who've had interesting events in their lives to remember...  and then I remembered I've always been to lazy to generate any unusual events to discuss.

While I considered this I had a lovely (if slightly chilly, because I'm NOT going to dress for winter anymore) walk to the store, because since I had no particular reason to go (didn't need anything) and no pressure to go (because it's not sunny) I of course actually felt like going for a walk.;)

Re the ending of "Moab" - argh!  He decided to end it before he met Hugh Laurie!

Gah yes, bad point to end it. But... did you notice how, when he was going through the names he'd like (while he was trying to guess Matthew's name), Hugh was one of the good ones?

I'll shut up now. ;D

I probably noticed the name thing at the time, but what I REALLY noticed was how often he mentioned "Hugh Laurie thinks I do X because of Y" and "Hugh Laurie made me laugh for a week when I first met him by doing an impression of a music snob at a party" - just lots of mentions of Hugh. I have to suspect that, even if he's reconciled himself to Hugh being unattainable, he probably had some sort of a crush on him at some point.

I think he has a continual and MASSIVE crush on Hugh. As you say, he's always referencing him. And in INTERVIEWS, omg! Even his list of achievements/works on the preface to my copy of The Liar has a second list which is basically "things I did with Hugh Laurie".

Heh heh heh.

And Hugh, of course, coming out and saying "I love him." Does it get any slashier than that?

Oh, being a slasher of course I agree with you. :) The optimist in me likes to hope that Hugh means it in the sense that (if my pervy fantasies suppositions are true) Stephen would like him to, and that Hugh's wife is all good with the fact that she doesn't have him all to herself. ;)
