derien | I went home and straight to bed...

I think I made up for the sleep I didn't get Sunday to Monday. When I got home from the party last night, about 12:20AM, I went straight to bed and was probably asleep in moments. After seeing

eor off to work this morning I went straight back to sleep until 9am. I feel as though I've somewhat failed my public by not making my usual drunken post, but I wasn't at all drunk by the time I got home. I had to drive, so I stayed until I was sober. Besides which I was a little worried about one of my co-workers, Diz. I made her count backward, and I thought she did okay, but she always talks so fast that it was hard for me to keep up. I always say to myself that I will be more forceful, but she was awfully stubborn about the fact that she was fine to drive. Yes, I'm worrying - I'm a worrier and a caretaker.

Only two highlights, because I don't have time to mine my memory right now...

I must put in, for ElvenGirl - Words of wisdom from Diz: "Never go skydiving with a guy you don't know." (Seems she did skydiving as a first date - his choice of activity. She found it a very poor choice for a first date because she didn't want to look stupidly scared in front of someone she didn't know. It would be fine, she said, if you knew the person a little and could cling to them and go 'I'm scared!')

Also:
ElvenGirl: "You took off your shirt?" (no, I wasn't running around in my bra - I took off my flannel.)
Me: "You're watching my clothes?" *very flattered* "But I did that like ten minutes ago, you missed it. Should I have been more obvious? '[ElvenGirl], I'm taking off my shirt now!'"

Can you tell I spent most of my night talking with ElvenGirl? Also, CeeJay, though little sense was to be got from him as he had been bought lots of drinks by Mainertoo at dinner before showing up at the party, and then The Invisible Man bought him more drinks.

(*stares at that sentence structure and wonders if she has been reading way too much Wodehouse* I try to overcome the impulse to write things like 'little sense was to be got from him,' but they're such seductive structures and they just seem to flow when I'm typing. Often I edit myself, because reading it aloud it would sound affected and obnoxious.)
