Hitchhiker's Guide? What's this movie about, anyway?

Mainertoo is organizing people to go see Hitchhiker's Guide!  yay!! 

I bounced around and squeed to the Reverend that the guy who's autobiography I just read it doing the voice for the Guidebook, and gave him a brief synopsis of the story about tea which daegaer posted the other day, which he found terribly amusing. :)

CeeJay made the mistake of asking me "what's this movie about, anyway?" to which I made a long rambling answer that only got as far as why Ford takes Arthur off Earth.:)

Someone asked me the other day what it was about, too, after seeing the commercial. And all I could say was, "I know I really want to see it because I read the book in 7th or 8th grade (I think it was that long ago) and loved it." But I can't explain any more about it. I suppose I should reread it before I see the movie, just to make sure my tastes haven't changed since 7th grade.
