Hot on the heels of learning that Ann Rice is going to put out an unedited (are they on crack?) novel about Jesus Christ, I also learned that there's already a movie called Jesus Christ, Vampire Hunter.  It's got lesbian vampires!  And transvestites!  [livejournal.com profile] inscrutable should get this for his movie night, if he hasn't already. :)

Saw BuddyBoy in the grocery store, today, which was a good thing - he cheered me up and shook me out of my funk. :)  I hope he didn't miss his boat as a result of stopping to talk with me (he lives on Peak's Island).  He hasn't found a new job, yet, and his hair is looking almost shaggy. :)

I read recently that Anne Rice bought a house here in San Diego, in the swanky La Jolla beach neighborhood. We don't have a huge goth community here, due to the violent sunshine I guess, but I'm wondering if the population will increase. Or if she'll start setting stories here. San Diego just doesn't seem vampire-y. It doesn't have any sort of magical feel.

Also, I envision a movie marathon weekend of Passion of the Christ, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter. It looks like lots of campy fun: "Mary Magnum and the god of Mexican wrestling, El Santos, help Jesus fight evil in this oddball horror-comedy."

I may have to see if I can find this movie at my local video rental place. :)
