Sum total of my accomplishments for the day -

1) Double-checked all the messages on the answering machine, copied down all numbers left, and deleted them all (it was full).  Hm, imagine that - looks like three of them or more are from a collection agency about a bill I already paid.  One was an old friend from college trying to keep in touch.  That one's been there a while, I'm not sure why I haven't called her back, other than that I feel I have nothing to talk about.

2) Did some dishes.  And made some more, by cooking breakfast.

3) Processed a couple of subscription requests to email lists.

4) Did a word count and chapter summary on all eight chapters of "Blue" by MizzMarvel, for no particular reason other than that I love the story and was curious if there was any consistency in length of chapters.  No.  But they do get longer, in general.  Oddly, one of the shorter ones is one in which lots happens, it seems.

5) Scrubbed the top of the stove.

6) Added the link to my Real Ghostbusters fic to the RGBS yahoo group.

It looks like accomplishment number 7 will be much rejoicing if I'm not late to work.  And I'd intended to leave early to stop at my old doctor's office to get a release form for my records so they would fax them to my new doctor's office.  Oh well... Thursday will have to be soon enough.  (My physical with the new dr. is Friday and my old dr's office is closed on Wednesdays.)

Tomorrow I must remember to write my ex-co-worker about the fact that his locker is still locked and would he like me to get the stuff out for him... and write my Aunt about visiting her in Florida in November, while we're down there.

I'm so incredibly boring.  And useless.

at the end of each chapter I have a note in "small" that reminds me how many pages it was (MSp = Microsoft [Word] pages) and the word count.

Argh, I'm such an idiot that I didn't notice that. Well, not like it took that much longer to slap it into OpenOffice and ask it how many words. Compared to how long I took looking over the chapters. And I don't KNOW that Ch 5 was really the most eventful, it's just the one I wrote the longest summation of. I might just have been paying more attention when I was reading that chapter.

I wrote something like (because if course I can't leave things unedited):
Ch 5 - 2616 words (according to OpenOffice)(Grounded, B stays at J's house so his brothers will be allowed to have a party. Great touch with "Don't go Forbes on me". Walking to school in companionable quiet. J catches a cold. They watch movies, talk, tell each other embarassing things. B tells J about Forbes being gay and getting beat up. B needs nightlight.)

I hope you won't cut back your chapter length too much - it's one of the things I liked best about that last chapter. It was a satisfying lenght.

Hm, yeah, that was an eventful chapter. I also wrote it almost entirely in one sitting, which is different for me.

I'm flattered beyond words that you took the time to do all that, though. I'd love to see what you wrote for the other chapters.

Well, um. Just so long as you understand these are really just notes I made to myself. And, oddly, as I'm looking back over them, it's leaping out glaringly that some words I could have sworn I typed have disappeared. Maybe I was more asleep than I thought I was. Also, I was completely inconsistent: I would do a generalizing overview, then I'd note in a small detail that I thought was particularly excellent - like, the bit where Jeff snaps the rubber band on Byron's wrist. (Very sensual.) Hm, yeah. Chapter Eight probably deserved much more attention, but I read it quite recently and I worked backward, so it got almost none.

Not that I imagine many other people are as stalkerish as I and go reading the comments on other people's journals, but in case they are and would be upset by spoilers, I'll just stick it on my server, instead.

And it's all crammed up in that narrow column because I had about five windows open as I was doing it.

Oh, wow, awesome! I'm impressed that you took the time to do that, since I clearly never did.

(For some reason, I found it funny that you called it gay porn. Which it is. But it's funny to me. I don't know.)

And I liked the rubber band thing too, and was a little disappointed when no one/hardly anyone mentioned it.
