Well, we went anyway, after we had solidly decided we would not. And we got rained on and were cold, but I still always have a great time. :) I never feel as though I have the time to enjoy all the things I want to - the singers and various acts. It's entertaining to just walk around and have the people who work there be saucy and rude at you, but we did stop and watch a comedic swordfight. (The guys pulled some kids into the game, which was fun for them. I hope their parents didn't get annoyed by the risque jokes - "Raise your sword a little higher! We won't be dueling in the French style!" "In his back, I said! Get your sword out of his arse!")I also got a new coat, which is quite dashing - I'll try to get a picture up, soon. :)
The only dim spots on the day - Teena couldn't attend with us, as we had hoped (had to work - bleh!); and the hot cider vendor wasn't there this year. :( I got a hot mead, but it's not at all the same - that cider they pressed out right there was soooo good.
I guess I could whine about having spent too much money on the coat, but ... I'll just have to do some overtime to make up for it. I've got a pretty coat. AND a hooded short cape that goes with it, or could probably go over
eor's pea coat and look quite spiffy.
While we were in the shop with the coats and cloaks (and everyone was getting quite friendly - we were there for ages, and quite a few of the people who came in worked at the Faire) I overheard someone commenting about someone else's LiveJournal. I wondered if I should say something, but I let it slide.
