In the middle of a week of eleven hour days. And Monday night I was nearly crying of exhaustion. Am trying to take care of myself in small ways, so when I got really really hungry yesterday afternoon, and was out of food (apparently I just didn't pack enough to get me through an eleven hour day), it seemed to make sense to buy myself something at the restaurant. When I woke up this morning my tummy was very unhappy. And one has to say to oneself, "the point was to make money, not to spend it." Oh well, I'll try to pack more food, today. I've got a ton of leftover sliced cheese from the party, Saturday, which I need to eat up. (as well as the rice and barbecue beef leftovers.) Vegetables might be good, though... maybe I'll try to leave early and buy a salad on my way in to work.
BTW, does anyone know any more tricks for peeling boiled eggs, nicely? I know they shouldn't be too fresh, but that's a factor I can't really affect all that much. And I know you should shock them with cold water as soon as you take them off the boil and peel them quickly. No matter what I do, a lot of egg sticks to the shell, or I get skin stuck on the egg, which I hate. Anyone have any more suggestions? My grandmother used to do dozens of boiled eggs at a time and get them all to look perfect. I don't need perfect, I just hate waste.
