I was going to comment on [livejournal.com profile] eor's post about economics and squirrels, but maybe I'll just post.

I hadn't noticed this pattern - that I tend to work harder in the fall - but if he says it's so it probably is.  Of course, who wants to work hard in the Summer?  No, I want to take time off and play.  I like Fall, I don't get too depressed by it.  A little melancholic, perhaps.  But the closer Christmas gets the more depressed I get, because I suck at finding gifts for people.  Working a lot not only has the advantage of getting some money put aside for those last minute expenses, it also lets me say that I've just been too busy to get anything done.  And I can pretend I'm not depressed, I'm just tired.  It's a win-win plan.

And I had thought, when I saw his cut title, that it was going to be about the squirrels facing imminent displacement when that tree in front of our building falls, as it is destined to do because our management company has not hired anyone to trim the branches back.  It's leaning even further after the storm, yesterday.
