Holiday gift meme (stolen from [livejournal.com profile] mizzmarvel)

STEP ONE
- Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post so that the holiday joy will spread.

STEP TWO
-Surf around your friends list (or friends friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream pure-bred Basset Hound for free--do it. Once a wish has been granted, it will be crossed off my list.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

1) I want Bush impeached.
2) Fic: My life is sadly lacking in really good slash fic of the Winston/Ray (Real Ghostbusters) variety.  But really I'm happy with all sorts of fic: Crowley/Aziraphale has delightfully already been had, and from the hand of [livejournal.com profile] daegaer, yet, so I'm not complaining, mind you, but if perchance someone should be inspired to write Psmith/Mike, Byron/Jeff, Nic Revel/Pete Burge, Bracy/Gedge, Holmes/Watson, Chon Wang/Roy Bannon ("Shanghai Noon" and "Shanghai Knights"), Chewbacca/Honoria Glossop, or ... well, you get the picture.  It doesn't have to be just for me.
3) Cards, really.  I like cards.  And pictures of people.
4) Pics.  :)
5) Pict fic.
6) For my RL friends to not move away.

Okay, I'm out of ideas.

And in other news:
I was shopping (not for Christmas presents, in fact, but for things we needed like socks and underwear) yesterday, and while I was out I stopped at the Discovery Channel Store to ask if they had the National Geographic Genographic Project kits.  The store was busy and I was not up for poking all around it, I'd wasted enough time in every other store I'd been in, so I waited until one of the cashiers was done with a customer so I could ask her.  I chose this one particular cashier to wait for because she reminded me of [livejournal.com profile] mizzmarvel, so I found her strangely attractive. :)  Maybe she didn't really look that much like Mizzmarvel, but she bore a certain resemblance.

(And if you're dying to know, the Discovery Channel Store doesn't carry them.)

(and btw, how annoying is it that Semagic tries to help by adding an http to the front of my links when I'm copying them?  Very annoying, because the http is already there, so they then don't work, and I only just realized that the link I posted days ago was not working all this time.  Grr.)
