This is probably why I never finish anything. I've been working, off and on, on making an icons collection page. This is entirely so I can link back to it from my LJ info page, and reference icons from one immutable point when I collect something interesting. I got tired of sticking them into either my graphics subdirectory, or 'oddities', or wherever seemed best on any particular day. All because I want to tell the story of this one before I stop using it.

Good Omens fans will of course recognize this reference. The demon, Crowley, is often frustrated by the angel, Aziraphale's, outdated sense of fashion. At one point Aziraphale sticks a bike rack with tartan straps onto Crowley's vintage 1926 Bentley and insists "Tartan is stylish." Well of course it would have been in the 1950s, but the story takes place in the 1990s. To me it's a symbol of my ultimate dorkitude, and my embracing of it.
When we were on vacation in Florida, in November, I was looking for a bathing suit, but I found all the colors and patterns disgusting - I couldn't imagine them on me. (and of course a basic black bathing suit is far too hot.) In frustration I said to
