Moosica! "Ca Plane Pour Moi" and "Jet Boy, Jet Girl"

Eor's mp3 player kicked up "Ca Plane Pour Moi" (yeah, there should be a little taily thing on the 'C' - sue me, I'm too lazy to figure out how to make it.) last night, and I suddenly had an irresistible urge to find out all I could about the song.  I've always loved it when I hear it (it comes up in dance clubs on 80's nights and such), but I can never remember even what it's called or who does it, and can't sing along because it's in French. 

I found all my answers and then some at the Strange Reaction archives (http://www.strangereaction.com/archives/2005/08/24/ca-plane-pour-moi/).  Much discussion, particularly in the comments, about the various bizarre covers done of Ca Plane Pour Moi, (in The Presidents of the United States cover the line "I am the King of the Divan" seems to have been changed to "I am the King of the people," and a Spanish artist(?), Captain Explosion, has done a variation titled "Surf Taliban."). 

"Jet Boy, Jet Girl" by Elton Motello was also posted there, seeming to be treated as a cover or variation.  Knocking around various sites, looking for the lyrics to this I've seen much disagreement as to who ripped off who, but it's explained here ("There's some debate as to which came first - although it seems certain that Plastic/Deprijk did - but the backing track is identical, by virtue of the fact that Elton's band did some work on the Plastic Bertrand album.")  and here also as a collaboration effect.  I'm going to post both songs so you can decide for yourself. 

Also, "Jet Boy, Jet Girl" - rather violent, but quite, quite gay.  The lyric "ca plane pour moi" is replaced by "he gives me head" or "he gave me head."  His boyfriend left him for a girl and he wants to beat him up.  (The version of Elton Motello's CD available on Amazon has the song edited because it's too "scandalous," according to a review.  Captain Sensible covered the song and changed the lyric to "He gives me hell" - ha! :))  But honestly, I was going to post "Ca Plane Pour Moi" anyway, I didn't make this post solely on the gayness factor encountered, I promise! :)  The lyrics in Elton Motello's are pretty understandable, but I can't find a text for them.

Try looking up the lyrics by searching "Jet Boy Jet Girl" by the Damned. They're the first band I know of that didi a version of that song. :-)

Yeah, I got a copy of their cover on that same site (Strange Reaction), and the lyrics do sound pretty much the same. I'll search for their's, it might be more popular.
