So, I thought I had to be at work at 8am. Turned out I didn't have to be there until 8:30. Which was a really good thing, since I didn't get there 'til 8:05. I might have gotten there on time if I hadn't chosen to use the new 'nudge' LJ function on
And then, after the class, I found out that I didn't need to be there for the early class after all - they had scheduled me to be in the class during my usual shift. *rolls eyes* They might have said. The memo I was worded in such a way that it seemed to be strongly pushing us to take whichever class was NOT during one's normal shift.
So I thought to myself that since I'd gone to all the trouble of driving Eor to work so I could have the car, I might as well stay late. Once I've been there 8 hours it's really all the same to me to stay 12 or more, especially when I already did the first three before my usual shift starts. But they decided I could only stay 8 hours, I would have to leave at 5pm, I was not going to be allowed any overtime. I'm not sure if that's because they had originally planned that I'd be taking the class during my shift, or if it's because I'm on light duty. I seem to recall there was discussion of not letting people on light duty have overtime, so that could be it. I've never been on light duty before, I'm not used to having to think about things like that.
I felt rather annoyed that I couldn't stay and rake in lots of overtime... but then people started sort of teasing me about it. "Go home! Go out to eat! Have a drink! Put your feet up!" And I was like... yeah. What am I complaining about?
So I'm home, having already had dinner (steak and cheese from Norm's), and am now on my way to making some sort of drink. It's Friday. :)
