Um.  Yeah.  I feel like all I talk about lately is how my body is falling apart.

I always stop to pee shortly before leaving the house, because I have always drunk a couple of big cups of water and a pot of tea - at least one.  But today I didn't even get to the end of my street before I felt like I had to pee again.  It was so intense that it was getting difficult to walk, and I was walking much more slowly than usual.  I made it to the bus, but only just barely.  By the time the bus had gotten as far as the train station (which is not even half of the way to work, it's maybe a third of the trip) I was in so much pain that I jumped out there, just because I knew there where bathrooms and I was going into that frantic state of mind.  By then I had also realized that I needed to go back home, anyway, because I had forgotten my uniform shirt, but I thought I could walk back in about fifteen minutes, call from there and say I'd be late, and jump on the next bus.  It all made sense at the time.  I started walking back, and it wasn't five minutes before I was again having to pee so bad that I was in that altered state of mind.  Or feeling as though I had to pee, because obviously there's no way my body had actually produced enough urine to fill my bladder in that amount of time.  Again, it go so difficult to walk that it took much longer than I had thought it would, and it took a half hour to get home.  Or possibly longer.  (Although also I took a different rout than usual under the mistaken impression that it might be shorter.  Stupid stupid stupid - my usual rule is to never take a shortcut if I'm in a hurry.)  And I wanted to cry every freaking step because it hurt.

So, I have a dr's appointment for 2:15.  Of course I'm going to have to take the bus to get there, and it's just a little way from where I work, so I'm dreading going through this experiment again.  Can I not pee my pants for the whole trip?  The suspense is killing me.

I took a couple of Advil in hopes that it's a muscular pull, and the Advil might relax it enough so that I can bear it.  A.McL found a place for our huge old printer to go, so Eor and I carried that down the stairs to her car last night, and my right leg is all tweaked out from that.  (Yeah, I knew I shouldn't do that with my back the way it's been, but it had to get done, I didn't have much choice.  Eor probably shouldn't have, either, but what can you do?)  The left leg is feeling it, too, and the right side of my back, when I started to do my exercises, is also tweaked.  It doesn't hurt, it's just that the muscles are all too-large feeling, and move funny.

Okay... it's taken me about a half hour to write this, with the interruption of the phone call telling me I have an appointment with the dr, and the need to pee is only just getting pressing, so maybe it's already getting somewhat better.

The stupid thing is, I didn't notice it before I couldn't use a bathroom.  I'm always back and forth to the bathroom, normally, and I don't think about how often when I'm at home.  I could have been in and out of there thirteen times this morning, I wouldn't have noticed.

Perhaps a chill in the kidneys actually translates to a minor bladder infection? It isn't terribly cold, today, but the wind was really intense, knocking my breath away and making all my muscles tense up.

I think that's probably what a "chill" is, maybe mixed with just the physical effects of cold weather. Lots and lots of water and hot drinks usually seem to help me in such circumstances (pee more now in order to pee less later!). Cold winds, they feature highly in my mother's list of causes of all things bad!
