I got a comment on the Great Write Meme!   I'm so excited. :)  Okay, is that self-centered or what?  It wasn't even an entirely positive comment - she says I don't quite capture the whimsy of Bertie's voice.  I think she's probably right, and actually I'm convinced that I'll never be able to.  Defeatist, I know.  Whatever, though - I'm probably done writing Jeeves and Wooster fic.  I'm just excited because I got any comment at all. :)  Only thing is, I'm a little disappointed that the person didn't give Absence of Madeline a chance, because she "generally [doesn't] like threesome fic".  The threesomeness of it isn't a very great part of the whole plot, and I'm convinced it's a better story than the other two by far.  Well, it actually IS a story, whereas the other two really... aren't.

So now I'm wondering - should I post back to this anonymous person and tell her some of that?  But... if you post anonymously you can't get replies, can you?  Unless you check back on the page, I guess.

I ended up making the same walk, between work and my Dr's office, three times, today, at 50 min the first time and 40 minutes the other 2 times (I took a shortcut), so I got a fair amount of exercise.  The first time was before work, just to see how long it would take - I got off the bus at the dr's office and walked to work, and didn't take the shortcut so that I could pad out my time a little to allow for any problems that might occur, later.  Now, I know what you're probably thinking - if the bus stops at the dr's office and at the airport, why would I walk?  The bus system here is... slow.  It almost undoubtably would have taken me an hour to make the whole trip if I'd taken the bus, because I would have just missed the bus before, or I'd have to ride around the whole route before it got where I wanted to go.  Essentially, in Portland it's easier to walk if the walk will take less than an hour.

Yeah, inconclusive result.  That really about sums it up.  She poked my belly and made me whimper, then said, "Well, it could be that the antibiotics, in combination with eating wheat when you haven't been used to it... and maybe a slight stomach bug."  Apparently, according to her, many people who aren't celiac have some gassiness from eating wheat-based things, but she had them take blood from me, anyhow.

With all that walking, I still didn't have much appetite, today.  I ate very little up to a point.  Then, as though some kind of switch got thrown, I started eating.  Yet, it still wasn't as though I was actually hungry.  I just had things I really like available.  Not cool, really.

Whee, I got to be the first person to do [livejournal.com profile] eor's first ever real and actual poll with his new paid account!

"If you could only write that much on the stories you write," sez he.  Yes, really.  Time for bed, now.  I've spent my entire evening composing this much.  And making macaroni.
