I was considering trying to write a story off this, but... maybe I'm too lazy. Plus, my idea is too dorky to make a good story.
A lump of coal, because he was bad. But since he wasn't with them when they got presents, I'd ask Lucy to keep it for him, and when she went to give it to him later it would have turned into a diamond. He would have it set on a bracelet, and when he was in the presence of someone who was lying it would turn black. It would help him be Edmund the Just.
