Do you think you might have a white or cream scarf with which I can try the fake that daegaer suggested to hide my V-shaped burn/white shoulders contrast?
Cream, I think, seems more apropos (appropos? *puzzles*).
I'll try your sandals, but I'll bring my short boots just in case. I have a great deal of trouble finding shoes that fit me because I've got such short, wide feet, with splayed toes - comes of not wearing shoes much when I was a kid, I guess.
Well, I was debating about my purse. I thought I could just tie my little black purse with the sequined elephant onto my belt (black silk cord) - backward, so the elephant wouldn't show. But I should sew up the zipper where it's coming unstiched and I thought maybe I should temporarily afix a flap over to hide the zipper (which I figured I'd do with safety pins). If you have ideas/time/other ways to attack the matter of a belt purse they'd be most welcome.
Also, I honestly don't know how much trouble it would be, and I don't want to put you to too much trouble, but as you're asking - I've always hated the lace trim on the sleeves of that dress. It's the only thing I don't like about it.
Normally I fake everything with tape and safety pins, but the sleeves wouldn't hang right with that much weight on them.
I'm guessing the lace trim would come off very easily with a handy little thread ripping tool I have. No problem.
I also have a little belt purse that I made for myself; I'd be happy to make one for you as well - it's pretty simple and closes with a button (not quail) - if you tell me what dimensions you'd like the purse (silver trim? Or gold?), as well as your cream scarf, I can whip those together before you get here!
Anything else? They had some really cool blue fabric at WalMart for a dollar a yard, and I was sorely tempted to start a new gown for myself, though it's unlikely that it would be finished before Friday... Hmmm...
Re the dimensions of the scarf - your guess would probably be better than mine, but I'm thinking between 32 and 40 inches long, and 6 to 8 inches wide - possibly a little wider? Some crumple effect is probably desired, but there's only so much that can be hidden under the dress. I seriously wouldn't put this as a high priority, I'm not really sure I can get it to look right.
Re the purse - big enough to hold a few credit cards? I'm thinking that's all one really wants attached to one's belt.

Cream it is; any preference as to dimensions? Is there anything else you'd like for your garb? (did I mention that when I can't cook, I sew?)
