It's a manatee in New York. 

The major points of interest to me: Global warming is brought up, of course, but there's also the barest mention that another one was seen ten years ago.  I think he's like Bilbo - a bit adventurous, not quite like the other manatees.

Wow, that's so cool. A girl on my flist saw a seal in the Liffey (that's the river that goes though Dublin) the otehr day but this is way cooler. I have a strange empathy with large, docile animals. I love those guys and regular land cows as well. I've never seen one of course. Maybe some day...
