My allergies are kicking my ass, tonight. My sinuses cleared up a little while eating tacos, but started feeling like they were closing in again as soon as I finished. At least I assume it's allergies, because it's been very slowly getting worse all week, and I'd have thought if it were just a cold it would have peaked before now. Also, I felt much better this morning after taking allergy meds last night, and most mornings I've felt kind of alright, it just gets bad while I'm at work. I seem to be allergic to the Checkpoint.
So now I'm downing some of the chilli tea
daegaer sent me, because it seemed as though it helped me once before. :)
In better news, though - I have "The Fortress of Solitude" by Jonathan Lethem! A co-worker who gave me a ride home had it in her car and loaned it to me when I squeed. :)
I'm also partway through a story in an Asimov's from two years ago (which for some reason I hadn't finished at the time) which is about Anne Bonny. The pirate! Yay! And she's hanging with this guy named Tobias Constantine, who's a magician/sorcerer/wizard (I don't think he's given himself a title) and at least a little queer - this story is pushing all my good buttons. :) It's by Ian McDowell, "Under The Flag Of Night," but unfortunately that might not do you all any good since it might not be available anywhere. I've done a Google and find lots of references to it but (in my admittedly brief search) no source where you can buy or read it. :(
More tea. An early morning tomorrow as we're going to Harpswell to get our long-absent van. :)
