Via [livejournal.com profile] phoenikoi: Folklore of homeless children.  And holy crap, the writer of this article paced it out well.  At the very end you learn Bloody Mary's identity, and EEP! :(  As I said to [livejournal.com profile] phoenikoi, on the one hand I'd almost like to see this used as a background for stories, but also I don't want to see it appropriated from the kids, as they created these stories because they need them to sustain themselves.

It does! I imagine a good deal of it is in the presentation, but I was so sort of spooked by it, because so much of it is... well, it's about as plausible as anything else. I really like the bit about the angels having a secret base in the Everglades, guarded by alligators.
