I'm trying to think what characters to use for the Home Sweet Home Challenge on
citynextdoor - of course for the city I'll use Portland. I suppose having been here only fifteen years or so I don't count as a native, I feel like a usurper of that title with
lemondropgirl around. ;) But the majority of the population seems more transitory than Eor and I.
BTW,
lemondropgirl, you're right - we don't pay for our heat, it's included in our rent, so, yeah, I feel like I can be a bit bitchy about it.;) If I paid for it I'd probably keep it just as cold the majority of the time. But, I'd be able to control it and have it when (and with a little work, WHERE) I wanted. We need heat in the bathroom, because there's a mildew problem which gets worse when the walls are cold and the shower steam condenses on them. And we need some heat between 5:30 and 6:30 in the morning to get us out of bed. And right now I'm being a cranky wuss because I'm feeling so under the weather - I'm experiencing that monthly miracle of womanhood, which always leaves me cold.
And exhausted. I went back to bed after dropping Eor off at work and slept another hour and a half.
Yay for massive amounts of hot chocolate! Considering the possibilities of making another pot was what got me out of bed again after my post-drive nap. This time I used honey, which made the taste smoother, and I didn't make the mistake of boiling it with the milk in it - I did all the heating and THEN added the milk.
*wanders off to the shower singing "Breakfast! A chocolate breakfast!"*
