Meme from [livejournal.com profile] rowantree - hit Pop Culture Madness, choose the year you graduated high school on the left, take the list of songs provided and bold the ones you love, strike the ones you hated.  Leave the ones you don't remember or had no particular feeling toward.

And the lesson here is, I didn't hear much music and didn't have a lot of emotion towards a lot of the songs I did hear.  Or the lesson is that once again my memory is quite bad.  I'm sure if I heard a few bars from some of these songs I would remember them.

I've been spending a good chunk of each of the last two days at work helping one of the guys (M.S.) who's been with us a while get ready for recertification.  He's been on light duty for a long while and hasn't had to handwand or pat people down. I guess they told him he'd better get himself off light duty or they were going to get rid of him, so, he's pretty certain that if he fails handwanding and patdowns he's canned.  Understandably, he was nervous - he would halt and stall on advisements and such, and the actual practical sessions would have him just pouring with sweat.

Keeping M.S. on task is... phew.  He's like a whole herd of cats by himself.  It probably didn't help that he had guzzled half an energy drink before we started, and used a little more to wash down a couple (or perhaps several) Xanax.  (Xanax?  Is that right?  An anti-anxiety med.)  I suggested he not drink caffeine before the recert test, today.  He said he has other drugs to calm him down.  I strongly suggested that no drugs AT ALL might be a good idea.  However, I think by the end of the night he wasn't sweating as much, he was almost burned out on being nervous, and he said if he could have taken the test right then he probably would pass.

He is grateful for my help, though, and has offered that if he passes I should go out for a celebratory drink with him and CeeJay tonight.  :)

I really should have put in for the trainer position, I guess.  I suppose I just needed to gain a little more confidence.  But Spinner already has it.  Thought they might hire another, so I guess I should put in.

I just called the OWCP again and they tell me that my case has been accepted, they just haven't sent out the acceptance letter, yet!  I'm tempted to jump and scream and shout in relief, but I don't feel I can until I have that letter in my hot little hand.  I may have sounded a little snarky on poor "Wendy" just trying to explain what's been going on with the case.  I told her that I've repeatedly called and asked for information, asked what was missing, sent the requested info over and over, and been told that he would call me, but he hasn't done so, and if he didn't call me tomorrow I was going to call a lawyer.  And she said, "Could you hold a second?  There's something here in the file I have to check on."  Which means she was asking if she should tell me that my case had been accepted.

Actually seeing the worker's comp letter will be such a relief.  Especially considering I've now made an appointment to get my wisdom teeth out.  December 22nd, just before Christmas.  All I want for Christmas is my four back teeth.

At least you have some good songs. My list has stuff like "Sk8r Boi." D:

It amuses me that you seem to think the music from 'my' high school age group is better than your own. You're really an old fart at heart, aren't you? ;) *adores*

The list for my year is awful. I loved lots of current music in high school, but I guess it just wasn't the most popular stuff.

it's a shame, but what's really good rarely seems to be popular.

Thanks! :) I'm trying to save my fears and wait to freak out until the time gets closer. I'm really afraid that if they put me under I might never wake up. It happened to a friend of a friend.
