I thought the pain was not slacking off like it should, so I made an appointment this morning to have them take a look at it. I thought it would be a quick glance, "You're fine, just keep taking the ibuprofen," and I'd be on my way to work, but I called in to let them know I could be fifteen minutes late. Well, I talked to Efaiel and he said he'd put it down as a possible hour late. Am I glad he did. They decided to take the sutures out today. Yipe! My last round of ibuprofen had just run out, too, so it was a little on the painful side. Not to mention nasty.
The new orders are to stay with soft foods and ibuprofen every three to four hours, but now I'm supposed to drink warm tea (to loosen the muscles in my jaw) and when I rinse my teeth swish hard, and they've give me a little squirty-syringe to clean out the holes. Brush back there very gently, squirt, swish, then massage the inside of my mouth/outside of jaw.
Doctor Yarn: *squirt-squirt* "Look at all that stuff! What is that thing? That's weird. Looks like... citrus? Yeah, that acid will make it hurt!"
I didn't bother to say that I'd also had tomato based soup and a really delicious pork curry that my co-worker made for Christmas dinner. Only a little! And of course the pakoras that Eor made last night could not in any way be passed up... <:) They still want to see me back on Friday. So now it's cream of potato-and-carrot soup. And lots of it. I have to quit snacking for a while, it's just too much trouble. Now, off to work.
